Sleeping Beauty

Jeff snapped this pic of Anne when she was in the bouncey seat the other day. Doesn't she look like a bigfoot?

I just had to snap this pick when Anne was sleeping with her mouth hanging open yesterday. This was, of course, before she pooed on my arm. I was on the webcam last night with Jen when I heard a couple squirts. I thought, "okay, guess I'll need to be changing a diaper soon." But then, a second squirt came along with a wet feeling on my arm. Yuck! And this was all about 5 minutes before our friends, the Weber's were coming over to bring dinner and eat with us. Miraculously, nothing got on my clothing, but my arm and the computer chair were not spared. Don't worry, the chair has been disinfected, and so has my arm.

Then, about 11pm last night I was feeding Anne in our bed and getting ready to put her down for the night when what appeared to be her entire stomach contents all came up. After that one, a nightgown change for me, pillowcase change and blanket change for Anne were in order. Jeffer slept through the whole thing. I can't believe it! I don't expect him to get up because he needs to go to work in the morning, but not once has he ever heard a peep on the monitor and woken up. I don't think this is all together uncommon, but surprising, nonetheless how men can block that thing out. I hear the faintest peep on the monitor and I'm awake.

Other than an excrement filled day yesterday, Anne has been doing great. She's been sleeping 5-6 hours a night, which is great. Last night she slept about 6 1/2 and I just had to go in there and check on her this morning to make sure everything was okay.

Jeff has gotten the opportunity to play on another softball team this week on Tuesday. Tonight he's going to play fast pitch. I definitely want to see this!. Should be exciting.

A Reifenberger Weekend

Jeff's brothers were in town this past weekend with their significant others. We had a lot of activities planned and had a blast. Here are Darcy, Anne, Matt, David and Lisa at Jeff's softball game on Saturday down at the Boston Commons.
All of us at dinner on Saturday night at the Gloucester House.

David and Darcy impressed us with their lobster eating skills. Do you believe David asked the waitress if the boiled lobster special was all you could eat?......what a land-lover!
And the winner is...

All of us (minus Lisa as photographer) at Halibut Point State Park. We spent the drizzily morning in Salem and visited the Witch Museum. Finally in the late afternoon we had a break from the rain and just a touch of sunshine while near the water.

We actually think there's quite a resemblance between Anne and Uncle Matt. Perhaps its just the complexion and the hair.

Our visitors also brought some super fun gifts for Anne and our house. Thanks guys. Anne gave rave reviews to the uncles and thought they all had some pretty good handling skills. She was impressed!

The Uncles

Doesn't it look like Anne's smiling in this picture? We are eagerly awaiting the "real deal" when she actually does smile at us and it's not just gas. We should be seeing some here in the next week or so.

Anne are I are waiting tonight for Daddy to come back home after picking up Uncle Matt, Aunt Darcy, Uncle David and his girlfriend, Lisa. Anne is very excited to see them all. She's currently resting up for the busy weekend ahead.

Below is Anne with her Emily doll which is on loan from her cousin. Reagan sent this doll out with Jaime to borrow for a while.

Here she is giving the Emily doll a kiss. She just loves it!

The Results Are In!

Anne and Daddy watching baseball after Jeff comes home from work.

Anne had her 1 month check up today with Dr. Krueger. She weighed 9lbs 6 oz, growing like a weed. She's at the 50% percentile for her weight. She's also grown more than an inch over the past 2 weeks! Jeff and I can tell she's getting longer though because her head is up higher now in the carrier when he has her.

We met at the park yesterday with some friends that we made in the hospital. Their son, Zachary is a day older than Anne, so it was fun to compare notes.

My friend, Heather, came out to visit us on Wednesday.  We had such a fun time.  Wednesday was also our 3rd anniversary, so Auntie Heather was a huge help and offered to babysit.  We all went to dinner together and then Jeff and I went out by ourselves for ice cream.  It was nice to just have some time to ourselves and reflect on the past 3 years and all that's happened since we got married...especially over the past few months.  God has been so good to us and we are so thankful for each other and especially for our little Anne whom we just love to pieces!

Thursday we went into Cambridge to have lunch with Jeff and some of his co-workers and then went to the Science Museum.  I would say the highlight of that excursion we the butterfly garden.  Heather got some awesome pics.  I'm hoping she sends them to me.  Anne's favorite room was definitely Mathmatica, of course.

Jeff keeps putting Anne to work when she comes to visit Helicos.

This is Anne with Kristen, one of Jeff's co-workers.

Grandma Swinter sent this super cute number for our little Annie.

This is the beautiful pearl necklace the Jeff gave to me for our anniversary and to commemorate Anne's birth, as pearl is her birthstone.

Anne's first trip out of Boston

On Tuesday this week we drove over to Mount Holyoke College to visit out friend Michael who was there for a conference. It was great to see Mike who now lives in Seattle which makes opportunities for visits a bit difficult. We're so glad he told us he was coming nearby so that we could arrange a meeting.

Sisters

So, my big sis came to visit us for the weekend. The highlight of which was when Anne pooped on Jaime's shirt! Okay, not really the highlight, but a funny story to tell her when she grows up. Jaime, the seasoned mother, questioned a noise that came from Anne underside. I, of course, told her it was nothing to only to see that she had a nice yellow stain on her white shirt...oops.

We had a great time on Saturday seeing the sights. The tall ships were in town and a sight to see. We had great seafood for dinner and capped the meal off with Ice Cream from Emack and Bolio's our favorite.

Here's Jaime with her rice krispie coated waffle cone.

Sunday was HGTV inspired day. Jaime was full of helpful suggestions and I had a blast going shopping for some home decor items and paint colors for a few of our rooms. Jaime was highly motivated and even starting stripping wallpaper for us! What a star. This was her first to see us in Boston and we were so thankful to have her visit.

Sunshine

My friend, Becca, from the Health Center came today to visit Anne, along with her fiancee, Matt. They brought over some yummy sandwiches and we took a walk over to the park to eat in the sunshine while Anne napped in the stroller under a shade tree.

Finally the weather is a bit warmer and we've been able to dress Anne is some of the cute outfits that used to be her cousin Reagan's. There's so much pink in her drawers just screaming to come out!

I forgot to post earlier this week that Anne was up to 8lbs 11 oz on Monday when she went to see Dr. Kruger. I bet she's close to 9lbs already. She's becoming so much more alert now and changing ever day. We just love her to pieces. Daddy's been taking the evening entertainment shift which was great because I got a couple hours of zz's last night before she had her last evening feed at 11pm and went to bed. Thankfully the last 2 nights she's only woken up once to eat between 11pm and 7am. Definitely makes for a more rested Mommy.

Outings

Well, it's been great to get out a bit now that I'm healing up and able to move about.

On Sunday we took Ron and Ellen to the Minuteman National Historic Park to see the sights involved in the start of the American Revolution. We also saw the spot where Paul Revere's ride ended. All of this is within about 10 miles of our home!

This week we have a bit of time to ourselves, though we are looking forward to our next round of visitors this weekend. My sister, Jaime, arrives on Friday night and will be here until Monday. This will be her first trip out to see us since we've moved and we're just so excited. Anne tells me every day how she can't wait to meet her Aunt Jaime. She'll get to meet her cousins in August. Though she has seen Reagan on the web cam.

My friend, Heather, from Belvidere, will be coming on Wednesday of next week. Anne is looking forward to meeting her middle namesake Auntie Heather, who just got married last week. Too bad, Uncle Adam can't come too :(.

I had my 2 week appointment today with my nurse practitioner who, of course, told me I'm likely doing too much if my incision hurts. I'm not one for sitting around though, so I'm trying to be a good patient and taking it easy this afternoon. We did, however, stop to have lunch with Daddy today as we were in the neighborhood. Who can resist lunch with his girls?

Grandpa's in Town

Ron arrive yesterday afternoon and Anne was so happy to see Grandpa.  He's quite the newborn entertainer.  Who would have know?

Anne loves to nap with mommy as much as mommy loves to nap with Anne.

2nd Round of Visitors and a Trip to Daddy's Work

Anne was so happy to meet Grandma Reifenberger and has had lots of snuggles, cuddles and kisses.

Anne loved her walk in the Bjorn. Doesn't Jeffer look cute with her? Priceless.

Today Ellen, Anne and I went to have lunch with Jeff and some of his co-workers. Here Anne is with Jeff's boss, Patrice.

Daddy taught Anne how to use the Heliscope today.

We tried to get a picture of Anne smiling. You can't quite tell if she's smiling or about to cry, but we think she's cute either way. We can't wait until we can solicit smiles from our little Anne. When she does it randomly, it'll just melt your heart.
